Pregnancy chiropractic care and the Webster Technique

Pregnancy changes how your back, hips and pelvis feel, and sleep, stairs or lifting a toddler can become uncomfortable. Dr. LeGault, certified in the Webster Technique, offers gentle chiropractic care focused on your comfort, alongside your obstetrician’s or midwife’s care. Your first visit starts with your pregnancy and health history and an examination. He then explains what he finds and builds a plan that fits you.

What does pregnancy back and pelvic pain feel like?

Pregnancy back and pelvic pain is usually an ache in your low back or around your pelvis. The ache often builds as your pregnancy progresses.

Dr. LeGault focuses your care on the everyday things that matter to you, such as:

  • resting and turning over in bed more comfortably;
  • standing, walking and climbing stairs;
  • getting in and out of the car;
  • keeping up with work, exercise and older children.

How does Dr. LeGault check your back and pelvis at the first visit?

Dr. LeGault reviews your pregnancy and health history, then examines your back and pelvis with orthopedic and neurological tests as needed.

  4. Your plan

From booking to paperwork, here is what to expect at your first visit as a new patient.

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and gentle adjustment of your pelvis and sacrum, the base of your spine. Its goal in pregnancy is to help those joints move well as your body changes.

Softer ligaments and shifts in weight and posture can put extra pressure on your lower back and pelvis during pregnancy. Dr. LeGault checks how your pelvis and sacrum move and adjusts them gently where needed.

Questions, answered

Do I need my obstetrician’s or midwife’s permission?

If your pregnancy has complications, check with them before you start. When you are ready, book online or call 412-364-4100.

Does the Webster Technique treat my baby?
