How do I book my first visit?

Book online with Dr. LeGault through his online scheduler, or call 412-364-4100. You don’t need a referral from another doctor.

The practice does not require a referral; some insurance plans may require one for coverage, so check your plan. The phone number takes calls only, not text messages.

Getting here: directions and on-site parking, just off McKnight Road.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit has four parts: booking, registering online, an evaluation of the problem that brings you in, and a clear explanation of what Dr. LeGault found and your options.

  1. Book

Book online with Dr. LeGault or call 412-364-4100. No referral is needed.

  2. Register online

When you register, you acknowledge our patient agreements and our privacy notice electronically. No handwritten signature is needed.

  3. Your evaluation

Dr. LeGault evaluates the problem that brings you in. X-rays are taken only when they are clinically appropriate, and then off-site.

  4. A clear explanation

He explains his findings and your options, then monitors and reports your progress. You decide how to go ahead.

The evaluation starts with your health history and a physical examination, which may include orthopedic and neurological tests and palpation (examining by touch).

If care includes an adjustment, read what an adjustment involves, including the other ways Dr. LeGault adjusts.

What should I bring?

Bring the four things on this list; they help Dr. LeGault understand your health and your coverage.

  • Photo ID
  • Your insurance card, if you’re using insurance
  • A list of your current medications
  • Any imaging or records you have

How is the paperwork done?

Online, when you register: you acknowledge our patient agreements and privacy notice electronically, and you can ask for a paper copy at any time.

Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we may use and share your health information and the rights you have over it. For a paper copy of any document, call 412-364-4100 or ask at the front desk.

Will I need X-rays?

Only when they are clinically appropriate, and when X-rays are needed, they are taken off-site.

Are there long-term contracts?

No. There are no long-term contracts to sign: Dr. LeGault explains his findings and your options, and you decide how to go ahead.

What can I expect from LeGault Chiropractic?

Gentle, hands-on, conservative care with clear explanations, in a family practice that sees patients of all ages, from infants and children to teens and adults.

From our patient agreement, what you can expect from us:

  • We explain our procedures and findings, then monitor and report your progress.
  • We respect your privacy and your time.
  • We honor your individual health goals.
  • We refer you to other specialists when that is what you need.

Is chiropractic care right for my problem?

Browse what we help with. If you are not sure, the first visit is the place to find out, and if another specialist should see you, we will tell you.

When should I get urgent medical care instead?

Some symptoms need a medical doctor or the emergency room before any chiropractic visit; if you have any of these, do not wait for an appointment.

Is it normal to feel sore after an adjustment?

Yes, it can be. Mild, short-lived reactions after spinal manipulation are common, and serious complications are rare.

If a reaction worries you, call 412-364-4100. For sudden stroke-type signs, call 911.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Call 412-364-4100 at least 24 hours before your appointment. A $50 fee applies to a missed appointment without notice, or to a cancellation made less than 24 hours ahead.

Insurance does not pay this fee. Emergencies happen, and they are considered case by case.

Do you take insurance, and how can I pay?

Yes: we accept many insurance plans and Medicare, and we bill Pennsylvania auto insurance and workers’ compensation. Coverage depends on your plan, and self-pay options are available.

  • UPMC
  • Highmark
  • Aetna
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Other Blue Cross Blue Shield plans
  • Medicare (participating provider)
  • Pennsylvania auto insurance (first-party medical benefits (PIP), billed directly)
  • Workers’ compensation

Coverage depends on your plan.

We can verify and check your benefits before your first visit or you can check with your insurer directly. Before you book, check your insurance before you come. Paying for yourself? Call to ask about fees, and ask for a Good Faith Estimate if you pay for yourself.

Ways to pay
