Diversified Technique adjustments in Pittsburgh’s North Hills

The Diversified Technique is one of the most widely used chiropractic methods. Dr. LeGault uses quick, precise and controlled adjustments by hand to help specific joints move more freely, with a force tailored to you and very gentle in nature. Every adjustment starts with a careful history and exam.

What is the Diversified Technique?

Diversified is a hands-on chiropractic technique: a quick, precise and controlled thrust by hand, known as a high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) adjustment, aimed at a specific joint to help it move more freely.

At our Ross Township office, Dr. LeGault adjusts by hand (Diversified), alongside other adjustment methods such as the Thompson drop table and the ArthroStim instrument.

What happens before an adjustment?

Before any adjustment, Dr. LeGault takes a detailed health history and examines you, so each adjustment is accurate and suited to you.

The exam includes feeling the joints and muscles (palpation), orthopedic and neurological testing and, when needed, imaging. He explains what he finds before treatment begins.

If you notice sudden numbness, weakness or loss of bladder or bowel control, see a medical doctor before your visit.

What does a Diversified adjustment feel like?

Dr. LeGault uses a specific force for each patient, tailored to you and very gentle in nature.

He positions you comfortably, then gives a single quick, controlled movement to the joint being treated. You can ask him to adjust the approach at any time.

Where on the body is the Diversified Technique used?

Because the technique is versatile, it can be used along the whole spine, so it suits many of the concerns people bring, such as back pain and neck pain.
